Empowering 200 Decision-Makers through Self-Service Intelligence
A financial firm had 200 people that were essentially hunting down the necessary data. Every time someone needed a report, they had to manually extract data from a proprietary CRM and spend hours, wrestling with spreadsheets. This created a massive bottleneck in the IT department and left the rest of the company waiting for the information they needed to do their jobs.
There was the need for a change in culture and a better way to deliver reports. I performed a deep-dive audit of every business module and request type to understand what the team actually needed to see. The goal was twofold: create a rock-solid data structure and then teach the team how to fish for themselves.
I engineered a custom ETL (Extract, Transform, Load) framework using SSIS to pull all that scattered CRM data into one central source of truth. I built a series of optimised datasets and views that turned raw numbers into usable business information.
For the visual Layer – I designed a suite of intuitive Power BI dashboards tailored to specific business needs. The most important part in this process was the education program. I trained a core team to support the platform and empowered the rest of the staff members to load, filter and visualise their own data.
– 90% Less Drudgery: We eliminated nearly all the manual ‘data request and extraction’, saving thousands of hours.
– 80% Faster Answers: By removing the dependency on a single IT team, the time it took to get a report dropped by 80%.
– 70% Better Efficiency: With a clear visualisation tool, the entire company started speaking the same data language, leading to faster, smarter decisions.
